Reebok are certainly bringing home the bacon with their latest product – Reebok BACON.  With more and more people donning lycra and weightlifting gloves as part of the CrossFit fitness craze the sportswear giant have got in on the act too.  More famous for trainers and football boots it’s certainly a new – and tasty – departure for the brand.  Reebok Bacon was launched at last month’s Reebok CrossFit Games in California and even comes in a snazzy box. They claim the mega meat contains all the protein of your regulation rasher but without sweeteners, monosodium glutamate, nitrates or nitrites. Aimed at those adhering to the Paleo Diet – a regimen involving lots of meat, vegetables and fish – the product is designed to bring home a bacon that isn’t actually that bad for you.
The bacon is the brainchild of ad agency Venables Bell & Partners, who said: “In sticking with Paleo recommendations, Reebok Bacon is uncured and contains no nitrates, preservatives, MSG or sweeteners.
It is not yet known whether Reebok will roll out the product for real but it was certainly a hit at the CrossFit Games.
