Purchased from: The Bell Inn Castle Hedingham

Hairy Bar Snack Review: A subtle understated bag with no fuss at all, all the information is on the front in black on a clear bag. 55g for such a small bag is a good sign of a heavy snack.

The smell is not sweet, it’s quite plain, but not boring. An excellent variety of shapes and sizes. Some pieces are light in colour and some are dark. The light ones have a light flavour, the dark ones have a more toasted flavour. Choose your favourite and leave it until the end of the bag!

These are really un-salty. The first one seems really undersalted, but by the end of the 55g bag, you can still eat the last one. This is not possible with more salty packs (unless you have a pint of ‘wash down lager’).
They are crunchy and fresh not crunchy and stale, so, therefore, they are hard, but not hard like concrete. No hairs, but on the other hand, there is a full range of skin fat and meat, which is really good. Probably the ‘meatiest’ pork scratchings reviewed so far.

At the end of the pack, there are lots of little bits at the bottom. A nice divide between the big 2 bite pieces and dust, like 2 types of snack in one bag.
