87444875 drinking pa 1 - We're all doomed! ...until next Thursday

We’re All Doomed… Well we are until next Thursday, when the ‘new’ alcohol guidelines will be published (probably), you know, like they are every few days, wine is good, beer is bad, red wine is good, beer is good, wine is bad, olive oil is good, fat is bad, butter is good, i can’t believe it’s not butter is bad, breathing is good, COME ON! FFS! make your mind up whoever you are, you are always coming up with this stuff every few days. Anyway, for the next few days, it might be a good idea to cut down on the booze (or not, it’s up to you, free country and all that).

The report also says ‘Heavy drinking sessions increase the risk of accidents and injury’, WELL REALLY! No Shit Sherlock! Get the f*** outahere! I don’t know why I bother reading this rubbish.

Anyway, this is what they are saying today…

The first full guidelines issued on alcohol for 20 years cut recommended drinking limits and say that any amount of alcohol carries a risk to your health.

Tough new guidelines issued on alcohol have cut recommended drinking limits and say there is no such thing as a safe level of drinking.

The UK’s chief medical officers say new research shows any amount of alcohol can increase the risk of cancer.

The new advice says men and women who drink regularly should consume no more than 14 units a week – equivalent to six pints of beer or seven glasses of wine.

Pregnant women should not drink at all.

It also says if people drink, it should be moderately over three or more days and that some days should be alcohol-free.

Nor should people “save up” their units and drink them all in one or two goes. Heavy drinking sessions increase the risk of accidents and injury, it says.
