Mr Porky, Jay’s & The Real Pork Crackling Company Pork Scratchings Recalled due to Salmonella Outbreak!
This is a post I really didn’t want to actually make a post for, originally relying on a simple social share or two. But the situation now seems quite serious, so here we are.
I originally shared the information on Facebook and Twitter as soon as I saw it, so don’t forget to follow us for news and information sooner rather than later. I also shared a link to the government Food Standards Agency website post so that people could get the facts about the situation without any extra fluff. https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/alert/fsa-prin-47-2021
People in hospital
It now seems that these pork scratching varieties have been linked to around 176 cases of salmonella poisoning. There are also at least 12 people who have needed treatment in hospital.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned the public not to eat a specific range of pork scratchings products made by Tayto Group at their Bolton factory, because of possible salmonella contamination, as follows:

The FSA say “Tayto Group Ltd is recalling the above products as a precaution. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that have sold the specific products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the point of sale notices attached.”
Let’s hope this gets sorted soon so we can continue eating the lovely pork scratchings from Tayto!
