For an eternity, the good people of the USofA have seen pork rinds in a similar light to the way pork scratchings were seen in the UK. They are both the food of the working or lower classes. A snack that is invariably eaten by beer-drinking drunkards.
Well, what we in the UK have known for years has now been realised by the Americans too. Porky snacks can be posh.
To be honest, any food can be posh, or common. It’s all in the mind, the era, the location. Thames oysters were once the food of the poor. Now look at them!
