Dr Burnorium’s Extraordinary Psycho Scratchings Review
Hairy Bar Snack Review: An innocent and dry smell upon opening the bag, lulls us into a false sense of security, gently blowing a cool breeze towards us.
They are very dark, this could be the cooking or the added flavour, so we eat one and get a ‘hurricane speed’ kick in the face, these are soo hot.
No hair, but then really, how could any survive the onslaught from so much fire?
They are very very crunchy and fresh which is a good sign. The fat is really puffy too.
They keep making us sneeze, I promise they will make your nose run.
They taste like real good traditional scratchings with an added twist. The quality of the scratching has definitely been considered, rather than Dr Burnorium taking the easy option and ignoring it, thinking that it doesn’t matter because you really wouldn’t care anyway. Some chilli heads do only care about the heat.
It’s like most really hot stuff, a whack of pain, then a little bit of calm, then a load of pain if you stop filling your face, but we have to stop because the bag is empty. Loads of dark fiery bits at the bottom, so we eat these, and when we stop, the pain just keeps going.
10 minutes and a pint of beer later, my nose is still running, but the pain has become a warm embracing wintery glow.
Saying all this, these are less hot than the equivalent Dr Burnorium Pork Crunch. This is probably because there is a lower ratio of chilli to stuff in the pork scratchings, but… …beware.
