Pub review: A great pub from a time almost forgotten. Not brand new and not really old, somewhere in between. It would seem to have been built around the same time as the surrounding housing, which would seem to be some time between the wars.
A huge pub with three distinct areas. Situated on a corner, there are two huge bars down each side and a smaller area on the corner. Some really nice original art deco features including great typography on the toilet doors. Lovely revolving doors reminiscent of a posh hotel.
Behind the bars is a function room, big enough for a very very big do!
An attempt at redecoration has been made with a lick of paint and a few modern pictures. As nice as these would seem to most people, I think they detract from what could be a real gem of a period pub.
No scratchings, but with a pub this nice, who gives a monkeys!
